Snow Day...Again

1/8/10

A look outside my window this morning told me I'd be staying indoors. So Much Snow in McKean.

Red Dress

In 2008, Alpha Phi at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) held it's first Red Dress Gala, to raise money and awareness for Cardiac Care, one of the main causes Alpha Phi supports. As a sister, I was more than enthusiastic to help in any way possible, and I was lucky enough to have the easiest task-of creating the logo. I handpainted the 'red dress woman' with acrylics, and am thoroughly pleased that the sisters still use it today.

T-Shirt

For the upcoming announcement of Point Park University's new Journalism School Spring 2009, I created this simple t-shirt design for the event. With the help of Robert Finnegan who came up with the words, I simply used Photoshop to throw it together.
The t-shirts were a big hit at the announcement event with over 200 of them being passed out to students.

Mattress Factory

Fall '08 I was a part of Advertising and Public Relations Graphics course at Point Park University. In the class we learned more fine tuning for Photoshop, Powerpoint, and InDesign.
As part of the final project we were assigned to create an entirely new advertising design for a local company, my group chose the local Mattress Factory Art Museum in Pittsburgh.
The Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh is extremely unique in its pieces, with entire rooms filled by different artists and many different ideas.
My group created a bulletin board, newsletter, post cards, and an event to help advertise the unique art available for spectators at the museum.
The following is the post card I created specifically for our event, the back and front included.

Photography

I thoroughly enjoyed all of my classes in photography, I was even close to a minor.
With everything going digital these days, it's hard not to switch, but black and white I and II were a couple of my favorites, nothing is better than spending an afternoon in the dark room.
This photo is a friend from my Studio Lighting (digital) Final Portfolio.
I'm still working on getting all of my photos online.
Stay tuned for updates.

Big Ben

One of my favorite parts of London (and Europe in general) was wandering around.
There's a story behind every building, monument, and statue.

Buckingham Palace

"The Jump" is mandatory at every major landmark, it's a shame it was too cold
this day to hit up any other landmarks.Posted by Picasa
