A consistent work in progress to show what I've seen and done

It's been a while, my apologies. 2011 proved to be my year of the creative explosion. I started the t-shirt store on etsy, check it out!
So all of fall I was creating t-shirts, updating my online store, and finding craft shows to attend. Etsy has been great to reach a public I would never meet unless I did a cross country tour selling my shirts out the back of my car (...which sounds amazing, maybe that will be a summer 2012 goal...) and the craft shows were fun. It costs so much money to get started, but all the little ladies I met (fellow crafters, and customers) were fantastic. It was a great experience, and with spring popping up I am starting to prep for new shows!
I am still rockin the house at redbeards, I am doing a good balance of bartending to serving shifts, I have definitely grown a preference for bartending. I have started doing freelance style photo editing for a Pittsburgh company, which has been fun - and will potentially lead me to something bigger.
I'm just curious if anyone has the organization issues I do. I feel like every week I have to reorganize. There is one mysterious day that I black out and tornado my house. I just want organization like Martha Stewart has been teaching me, why is it so hard to keep up with? So, I bought some storage boxes, and folders. And it will be done.
Thats pretty much it for me, I'm heading home to work on taxes, create some new tee designs, and organize the office. Wee!

Summer Time
It has been quite the summer. The web site has been put on hold, I haven't been spending much time at the computer. But I have been making serious investments into a new venture- screen printing. Compared to most I am very very slow in my process, but teaching myself and have already completed an order of 60 shirts. Thanks to mom I have a new toy aka screen printing machine, that I am doing some research on and trying out here soon. I have also been collecting bottles, and looking into building my own lamps. What else...I have been making frames out of old records, painting up a storm...and working. There is a lot of great stuff going on, and I am loving it. Looking forward to putting up some photos and sharing all of these projects with the world.
Check back for updates and hopefully links to my little line of shirts :)

Newly Remodeled
So I am in the middle of moving, an awful process. To go through everything and put it in boxes puts me all out of whack. But fresh beginnings is something I can always look forward to. Like sitting in front of a new canvas and knowing something awesome is about to happen. I love change, but the process of it typically overwhelms me.
So I figured since I will be moving to a new, lovely home, I would push off packing the last bit of stuff and share what I have been up to.
With the shockingly wonderful summer weather we are having in Pittsburgh I have been recruiting friends for photoshoots. Just for fun, and they have been a blast. Check out my photography page for some updated shots.
I am also in the process of branding myself and developing, what I hope, will be a catchy kit to send to employers, since the resume-phone call route is not going so well. AND I am working on a book of my photos to take around the city and propose to expose my art. I know my room mate loves my canvases cluttering the living room and dining room, but it is time to expand and get some art outside of the house.
So I have a lot going on, which my mother knows just as well as I do-is when I do a lot of my best work. So cheers to being busy, and enjoying this wonderful summer.
Pop back for more updates, photos, resume updates, and maybe JUST maybe a completely new, website. (I have discovered how easy it is on mac's to create, and have been taking FULL advantage of it)
Cheers!

Whew.
I pulled off the wedding. Check it out on my photography page.
Things have simmered down since January. I am strictly working at Redbeards for the moment and keeping up with photography projects, catching up on painting, and trying to explore every museum in Pittsburgh. Which yes I realize the last three things don't exactly pay the bills, but its all about stopping to smell the roses right? Speaking of smelling roses and not paying bills I am taking a cruise to London at the end of the month. It is irresponsible, but cheap, and I am SO excited to see my P for Piehl and company.
So that is whats going on with me, I am still applying like crazy everywhere I can, with absolutely no luck. But I'm paying the bills and still taking a cruise to London, so I'm definitely in a happy place. Especially with this recent creative burst I've been going along with.
Cheers :)

Busy Busy
I don't want to jinx all the great stuff happening, but I am really busy this year. I scored an awesome job through Pittsburgh Public Theater as an Artist Assistant (through one of my customers, isn't networking fun?) and I'm serving at RedBeards still. I'm also a freelance photographer for Moon Township (www.moon.patch.com) and it is time for weddings again :) I just added another page for the Park Wedding I am beginning to shoot. I just finished up their beautiful engagement photos, and have officially been booked as their wedding photographer. It will be my first wedding but I'm confident that I can find the shots they want and deliver a quality book of memories that they will be proud to show for years to come.
I also just returned from Arizona (75 degree weather, it was something so foreign, but so welcomed) and I have re-started my nationwide job search. I have a lot of great things happening in Pittsburgh, but all of these things I could do anywhere, and I'd love to see it all.
So here's to an exciting year, more updates to follow. And be sure to check out the Park Wedding tab :)
Cheers!
